NEW ORLEANS — First Lady Jill Biden will fly to Louisiana Friday to tour the Louisiana Cancer Research Center in New Orleans.
According to a White House spokesperson, the First Lady is traveling as part of the Biden Administration's "Cancer Moonshot" initiative to cut the cancer death rate in half over the next 25 years.
Jill Biden will be joined by Senator Bill Cassidy and his wife, Dr. Laura Cassidy. Dr. Laura Cassidy is a breast cancer surgeon.
The trip to New Orleans coincides with National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
The First Lady will arrive at MSY airport around 1:30 p.m., then meet with Sen. Cassidy and Dr. Cassidy at the Louisiana Cancer Research Center around 2:15 p.m.
