NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority makes changes to some busy streetcar routes in preparation for the upcoming Mardi Gras parades and S&WB maintenance.

The RTA will suspend streetcar service on some routes but will replace the streetcars with RTA bus service instead.

Bus service will replace streetcar service on the Canal Streetcar lines #47 (Canal-Cemeteries) and #48 (Canal-City Park).

The service change will be from Wednesday, Feb 7 through Monday, February 12.

The RTA says the service change was also made so that the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans can perform maintenance work on the Canal Street neutral ground between White Street and Gayoso Street.
