Suspects identified after car chase ends in crash; stolen firearm and illegal drugs seized

A criminal history check conducted on all five adults arrested revealed one of the suspects has previous convictions of drug possession and racketeering.

The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office released the names and charges for five adults arrested on Monday following a cross-parish high-speed pursuit from Chalmette that culminated in a multi-vehicle crash on the edge of the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Following the arrests, deputies recovered a stolen Glock 23 .40 caliber handgun, 12 individually packaged clear plastic bags each containing 29 grams of marijuana, a small amount of cocaine, clear plastic bags, a digital scale and $1,795 in cash from inside the black Infiniti sedan.

The following suspects were arrested and booked on the following charges:

Christopher Walker, 20, of the 2800 block of Stacie Drive in Violet

  • possession with the intent to distribute marijuana
  • possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • possession of a firearm in the presence of a person convicted of certain felonies
  • possession of a stolen firearm
  • aggravated flight from an officer
  • two counts of aggravated criminal damage
  • illegal display of license plate and illegal window tint

Dylan Duval, 18, of the 2800 block of Stacie Drive in Violet

  • possession with the intent to distribute marijuana
  • possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • possession of a stolen firearm
  • flight from an officer and obstruction of justice

Richmond Marrero, 34, of the 7500 block of Pebble Drive in New Orleans

  • possession with the intent to distribute marijuana
  • possession of a controlled dangerous substance
  • possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • possession of a stolen firearm

Lisa Duval, 39, of the 3300 block of Stacie Drive in Violet

  • possession with the intent to distribute marijuana
  • possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • possession of a stolen firearm

Taia Carroll, 18, of the 190 block of Monique Drive in Shreveport

  • possession with the intent to distribute marijuana
  • possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • possession of a stolen firearm

According to Sheriff James Pohlmann, a criminal history check conducted on all five arrested revealed Walker has prior convictions for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and racketeering.

Surveillance video obtained by WWL Louisiana showed the suspects attempting to flee the scene after colliding with three vehicles, which included two parked cars.
