St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a driver for a hit-and-run crash that sent a man to the hospital over the weekend.
Deputies found a man lying on the shoulder near the intersection of Airport Road and Tiara Drive in Slidell when they arrived there early Friday night (Dec. 7).
Investigators say they determined the victim was hit by someone in a red Nissan Versa, and found a car with damage consistent with the crash.
Deputies arrested the owner of the vehicle, 65-year-old Willis Barker Jr.
He faces a number of charges, including one count of felony Hit and Run Driving, plus Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Negligent Injuring.
Officials with the STPSO say the victim entered the hospital in critical condition but appears to be improving.
