As heavy rain has caused some street flooding in the area, some schools and universities have canceled classes on Wednesday, August 30.
The following schools have closed:
- Nicholls State University
- All Lafourche Parish Public Schools
- All Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux Schools
- All St. John the Baptist Public Schools
- All St. James Public Schools
- Riverside Academy in St. John the Baptist Parish
