GRETNA, La.—A former West Bank pastor pleaded guilty to having sex with a 15-year-old girl Monday, sending him to prison for 6 years, and forcing him to register as a sex offender for 25 more.
Bryan K. Johnson, 49, agreed to plead guilty to sex with the girl because he believed it was in his best interest, not because he was admitting wrongdoing.
The mother of the young girl Johnson had sex with five times wiped away tears in court as Johnson entered his plea.
“We can now heal,” she said, not wanting to be identified, outside of the Jefferson Parish Courthouse following the hearing.
An investigation by WWL-TV exposed problems with the investigation into the crime and revealed Johnson had a documented history of violence and relationships with young girls.
