Anderson's 20 help Lamar defeat New Orleans 71-57 in Southland Conference Tournament

LAKE CHARLES, La. — Terry Anderson had 20 points and Lamar beat New Orleans 71-57 on Monday night in the second round of the Southland Conference Tournament.

Fourth-seeded Lamar (19-13) advances to play No. 1 seed McNeese on Tuesday in the semifinals.

Anderson added eight rebounds for the Cardinals. Cody Pennebaker added 13 points while shooting 5 of 9 from the field and 3 for 4 from the line while they also had five rebounds. Adam Hamilton had eight points and finished 3 of 4 from the floor.

Khaleb Wilson-Rouse, Tyson Jackson and Jamond Vincent each scored 10 points for the Privateers (10-23).

Lamar took the lead with 8:56 remaining in the first half and never looked back. Anderson led his team in scoring with 10 points in the first half to help put them up 34-25 at the break. Anderson led the way with a team-high 10 second-half points.
