Report: Pelicans' Brandon Ingram to return Wednesday against Timberwolves

Ingram is expected to return against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Smoothie King Center barring any setback in pregame.

NEW ORLEANS — Brandon Ingram will reportedly return to the court on Wednesday after being sidelined for two months with a toe injury.

The Athletic's Shams Charania was the first to report the news on Twitter on Wednesday. Charania said that Ingram is expected to return for Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Smoothie King Center barring any setback in pregame.

The Pelicans are hoping to snap a five-game losing streak, with the most recent loss coming via the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.

The Pelicans are 16-11 in Western Conference games. The Pelicans and Timberwolves are meeting for the second time this season. The Pelicans won 119-118 in the last matchup on Dec. 29.

On Tuesday, the Pelicans said that star power forward Zion Williamson is making good progress in the recovery from his right hamstring injury and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Williamson injured his right hamstring on January 2 during a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. A statement from the team said that his hamstring is healing as expected and he will continue to rehabilitate.
