The first LSU Tiger off the board came at No. 5 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected linebacker Devin White.

Tampa Bay had a sieve of a defense last season, s the Buccaneers, with new coach Bruce Arians — an offensive mastermind— chose LSU linebacker Devin White, the Butkus Award winner who led the SEC in tackles.

LSU has had more players taken with the top six picks of the NFL Draft than any other program over the last 10 drafts, now with seven.

He's exactly the kind of playmaker the unit has lacked for several years and had the highest percentage of pass pressures in FBS last year.

"The Buccaneers are getting a great off the field player," White said about himself. "I'm going to be a guy they respect. On the field, they are going to get an every day down linebacker. Able to go sideline to sideline, someone you won't have to take off the field, play with a high motor and just have a passion for the game."
