Saints: Michael Thomas fires back to report that he'll be released

Thomas said, The Saints leak information to him [Jeff Duncan] to try to ruin players' value, but see, I’m not broke, so I can speak on it."

NEW ORLEANS — About an hour after news broke that Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas would soon be released, he responded on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Here is what Thomas had to say:

ESPN reporter Kather Terrell reported that Thomas' contract is set up in a way that the team would either have to rework it or release him this offseason.

Last season, Thomas was placed on IR after injuring his knee against the Vikings in Week 10. He finished the season with 39 catches, 448 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

According to our partners at The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate, Michael Thomas is expected to be released at some point before the start of the league year, which begins on March 13.
