NEW ORLEANS — A night after celebrating her birthday at the Met Gala, Angel Reese returned to the court for a Chicago Sky preseason win.
Reese is often a topic of discussion on social media, and she was once again when photos of her at the Met Gala began circulating online.
She responded by saying, "so now yall can delete them drafts & tweets saying i shouldn’t have gone to the met gala & i can’t do both. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME."
The Sky allowed Reese to leave practice early to attend the Gala. Reese finished Tuesday night's game with 13 points and 5 rebounds in 19 minutes.
Reese, whose new nickname is Chi-Town Barbie, was picked 7th by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA draft in April. She played in her first preseason game last Friday night, a 92-81 loss to the Minnesota Lynx. Reese also scored 13 points in that contest and grabbed 9 rebounds in 24 minutes.
The 2024 WNBA regular season tips off next month on May 14. Reese and Sky's first game is on May 15 against the Dallas Wings.
