NEW ORLEANS — Monday will be nice with a mix of sun and clouds, comfortable temperatures in the low 70s and a breeze out of the north at 10-15 mph. Tonight a quick moving disturbance will bring clouds and a few showers. Showers are expected to be light and accumulation will be less than a quarter of an inch.
The dry and cool pattern is due to high pressure strengthening to our north early in the week. Tuesday will be sunny and slightly warmer in the upper 70s. Then we'll get a surge of drier and cooler air on Wednesday to keep things cool-ish through Thursday and early Friday.
Clouds and moisture finally increase late Friday ahead of our next storm system. Right now it looks like it'll move through with some storms mainly on Saturday (maybe 1-3 inches of rain) before sweeping east of us on Sunday.
All the recent rain has placed us within the top five rainiest Aprils on record - and we still have a couple of weeks left in the month.
