A severe line of storms swept across portions of southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi coast on Monday afternoon and into early Tuesday morning. The first wave brought damaging wind, power outages, heavy rainfall and even spawned a tornado in Assumption Parish.

Around midnight, the second line began its trek east across the River Parishes and into the surrounding New Orleans area and into Mississippi. Severe thunderstorms, flash floods and tornado warnings continued throughout the early morning hours.

Residents from around the area submitted photos and videos of the storm-related weather and damage left in its wake.

See the images in the gallery below:

During the second wave of storms, Slidell resident Scott Ward captured marble-sized hail dropping into his Crossgates neighborhood yard, while an employee at Discount Food Mart on the corner of Saint Claude and Friscoville avenues in Arabi showed off the torrential rainfall caught on store security cameras.

Both videos show below:

Viewer Jordan Cagle shot the following video of ominous storm clouds over homes in Choupique, facing the Chackbay-Vacherie area on Monday afternoon.
