ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. — A suspect has been identified in a credit card skimmer case in LaPlace.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated reports of skimmers placed on credit card readers at the LaPlace Walmart. Credit card skimmers are devices placed on credit card readers to copy payment information.
The suspect identified is a Romanian national, and an arrest warrant is pending, according to Sheriff Mike Tregre.
The case is expanding to other jurisdictions.
