Four wounded in Central City shooting, NOPD investigating

The victims' ages ranged from 33 to 15, and it was one victim's 31st birthday, police records show

Police are investigating a quadruple shooting in Central City.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, officers received the call around 3 p.m.

One victim was found in the 2100 block of Fourth Street with a gunshot wound to his ankle. A second victim was found just two blocks away in the 2000 block of Washington Avenue with a gunshot wound to the chest. They were rushed to the hospital in ambulances for treatment. 

Two more victims arrived at Touro Hospital with gunshot wounds. Police did not identify the victims or the extent of their injuries.

Initial police reports show that all four men were shot on Loyola Avenue when a dark colored sedan driving past stopped and opened fire into the group. 

The car, driven by an unidentified black man, then sped away in an unknown direction, witnesses told police. 

The victims' ages range from as old as 33 to as young a 15, NOPD reports show. It was one of the victim's 31st birthday. Another had just turned 18-years-old in January.
