Clancy's Commentary: Many without homes, hundreds in need of disaster assistance

WWL political analyst Clancy DuBos says disasters remind us how much we need our neighbors.

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — The tornado that ripped through St. Tammany Parish on April 10 has left dozens of people homeless and hundreds more in need of disaster assistance.

Disasters remind us how much we need our neighbors. That's certainly the case with the April 10 storms that damaged or destroyed nearly 700 homes in St. Tammany Parish.

Even those of us who don’t live in St. Tammany can be good neighbors by donating to the United Way of Southeast Louisiana, which is dedicating 100% of disaster donations to immediate relief for storm victims. WWL Louisiana is proud to partner with United Way in this effort.

Donating is easy. Go to our website, at wwltv.com and click the “Disaster Relief” link, or go directly to UnitedWaySELA.org. Because we in south Louisiana know that any of us, at any time, could find ourselves in need of good neighbors.
