Report: Faubourg Brewery to sell off equipment in public 'yard sale'

The company has now decided to move forward with disassembling its brewhouse and taproom. The auction will be held online in June.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans-rooted Faubourg Brewing Company will hold a public “yard sale” and auction off all of the facility’s equipment as our partners at The Times-Picayune report.

The auction is set for June and is another sign of the financial struggle Gayle Benson’s investment in New Orleans East has been dealing with for seven years when the late Tom Benson bought Dixie Brewing Company.

The company has now decided to disassemble its brewhouse and taproom. It is unknown what will happen to the brewing facility's building.

The online auction will be held in the first week of June and is estimated to sell off a 100-barrel, five-vessel brewing system, and a high-speed canning and bottling line to the highest bidder at an estimated value of $2 million.

In 2020, Gayle Benson opened a sprawling $30 million Faubourg Brewing facility with the ambition to be a regional brewing hub and bring desperately needed jobs to New Orleans East.

In September 2022 Faubourg merged with the privately-owned craft brewing company Made By The Water.
