NINE MILE POINT, La. — A Slidell man was killed in a one-car crash on the west bank of Jefferson Parish late Tuesday night, according to the sheriff's office.
The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. near Nine Mile Point Road and Seven Oaks Boulevard.
According to the sheriff's office, 44-year-old Xavier Gonzales of Slidell was driving a Chevy Bolt east on Highway 90 near Nine Mile Point when his car ran off the left side of the roadway and into the grass before crashing into a bridge support.
Gonzales, who State Police said was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered critical injuries and died on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. Toxicology samples were taken.
