Lafourche Parish boil advisory lifted Monday

The water is once again safe to drink from the tap, officials said.

LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. — A boil water advisory has been lifted in Lafourche Parish following successful testing of the water.

The advisory came after a water leak in the parish.

Thursday afternoon, officials announced that the water leak was fixed. However, all customers between the Hwy 654 Bridge (Gheens Bridge) and the Lafourche-Jefferson parish line were under a boil water advisory until Monday.

The boil water advisory came from the parish experiencing low water pressure after a leaking water main break near its South Water Treatment Plant.

Customers should stay tuned to News Media outlets and monitor the Lafourche Parish Water District’s Website at www.lpwdla.org for further updates and additional information.
