TERREBONNE PARISH, La. — Louisiana State Police are investigating a head-on crash that left one woman dead in Terrebonne Parish on Wednesday.
Police identified the woman as 71-year-old Josephine Deion of Houma.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. on Bayou Gardens Boulevard Extension between Louisiana Highway 660 and Louisiana Highway 316.
Investigators revealed Deion was driving east on Bayou Gardens Blvd Ext in a 2006 Honda Accord when she crossed the center line and hit the Toyota head-on.
Police said that Deion was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but she suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota was also wearing a seatbelt. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
