NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans East man wanted by police for shooting and killing his sister and hiding her body in the trunk of a car last week has been arrested in Houston, The Times-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate reported on Saturday.

Court records in Houston said Hoa Nguyen was arrested there. The 37-year-old faces a count of second-degree murder in the killing of his older sister Huong Nguyen, who was 42 years old.

The New Orleans Police Department hasn't identified a possible motive in the case, and they haven't said how they connected Hoa to his sister's killing.

Hoa was noticeably absent at his sister's wake and funeral this week.

According to police, Huong Nguyen was shot to death and left in the trunk of her silver Toyota Camry. Her body was found about 8 p.m. March 13 near Robin Hood and Will Stutley drives, about seven blocks from the home she shared with her mother and Hoa,  The Times-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate reported.
