Construction is underway to widen Louisiana Highway 20 approximately three miles in St. James and Lafourche parishes. Work has also resumed to widen the Bayou Chevreuil bridge to tie into the limits of the road widening.

LA 20 will continue having intermittent lane closures in both directions beginning Wednesday, between LA 643 and LA 307. Weekday closures will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, for the duration of the construction projects.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development said flaggers will be on site to direct traffic through the work zone. One lane of travel will be maintained at all times. Motorists should expect delays when traveling through the work zone.

These closures are necessary for roadway widening and drainage installation.

These closures are subject to change due to adverse weather conditions.
