By opting out his name, image and likeness won't be used in the game.

NEW ORLEANS — Video gamers around the world hoping to see Arch Manning's name in the game will have to wait at least one more year.

According to Texas football reporter Anwar Richardson, the redshirt freshman will opt out of EA Sports College Football 25. "I'm told Arch is focused on playing football on the field," Richardson said in a tweet.

By opting out, his name, image, and likeness won't be used in the game.

ESPN reported that over 10,000 players have opted into the game. These players will have their name, image, and likeness used and get $600 and a copy of the game.

The game is set to be released this summer. Its EA Sports first college football game since July 9, 2013.

Manning will head into next season as Quinn Ewers' backup. Last season, the former five-star recruit spent most of the year as third quarterback on the depth chart. He appeared in just one game where he completed 2 of 5 passes for 30 yards and rushed for 7 yards against Texas Tech.
