Saints sign TE Foster Moreau to 3-year deal

Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in March during a physical with the team. He plans to play in 2023 and has already been cleared.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints will sign New Orleans native and former LSU Tight End Foster Moreau.

Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in March during a physical with the team. He plans to play in 2023 and has already been cleared.

WWL-TV Saints analyst Nick Underhill said, "He's [Moreau] still getting treatment but it won't impact his participation. The Saints will bring him along slowly, but he is not expected to have any limitations."

The Saints and Moreau agreed to a three-year $12-million deal including $8 million guaranteed, according to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter.

Derek Carr will get the chance to throw to another former Raider. Moreau had spent his entire career with Oakland Raiders. In 4 seasons he had 91 receptions for 1,107 yards and 12 touchdowns.

WWL-TV Sports reporter Brooke Kirchhofer reported earlier this week that the Saints had offered a deal but Moreau was receiving attention from other teams.
