NEW ORLEANS — A tornado watch was issued for parts of the Northshore and metro New Orleans area just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
The watch is set to expire at 11 a.m.

The watch comes on the heels of a tornado warning east of Kentwood, which expired around 9:15 a.m.

Some heavy rain is expected to make its way over the NOLA area sometime in the late morning or early afternoon.
