LAFITTE, La. — Commuters in Lafitte had a hard time seeing where they were going Wednesday morning because of heavy smoke blanketing the area.

The dense smoke from a possible marsh fire caused low visibility conditions for drivers in Lafitte and lower parts of Jefferson Parish.

Many commuters took to social media to post pictures showing the heavy smoke blanketing the roadway. Many parishes across Louisiana are still under a burn ban.

So this is lafitte this morning(smoke from the marsh fire) right by the schools. and Jefferson Parish School Board is keeping the school open. just doesn’t make sense
