New Orleans Police get new lead in Bacchus shooting investigation

The NOPD is looking for three people that are not wanted on criminal charges, but may have vital information.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department has a new lead in the investigation of a shooting that occurred on the Bacchus parade route last Sunday that killed a teenager and wounded three.

The NOPD is looking for three persons of interest in a photo they released to the press - they said those individuals are not wanted for criminal charges, but may have vital information pertaining to the shooting.

Mansour Mbodj, 21, was arrested as a suspect in the shooting. He was booked on charges of second-degree murder and illegal carrying of weapons.

"Anyone with additional information on this incident or on the pictured persons of interest is urged to contact NOPD Homicide Det. James Fyfe at 504-658-5300," the press release said. "Those wishing to report information anonymously can do so by calling Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP."
