HARVEY, La. — Detectives with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating a homicide that happened early Wednesday morning in Harvey.
Sheriff Joseph Lopinto reports that around 12:45 am, deputies were dispatched to a report of gunfire near Eastview and Sienna Drives.
When responding deputies arrived, they found an adult male victim in a vehicle in the 3700 block of Eastview Drive. The man was suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of the family.

This is the second shooting to happen on the Westbank Wednesday morning just a few hours apart.
Over in Algiers in Orleans Parish, the New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened at around 2:08 a.m. in the 4500 block of MacArthur Boulevard.
NOPD detectives say a male victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Few details are available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
