METAIRIE, La. — Authorities say one person is dead and another is hospitalized after two pickup trucks collided on the Interstate 10 on-ramp near Bonnabel Boulevard in Metairie on Monday Morning.
According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Deputies say one truck was traveling northbound on North I-10 Service Road and the other was traveling southbound on Bonnabel Boulevard when they collided in the intersection.
The JPSO said that one driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was taken to the hospital. There were no other occupants in either truck.
The crash had Bonnabel closed for several hours during the morning commute. Photos from the scene show two pickup trucks with significant damage as well as a large amount of debris in the roadway.
