LSU has reached a undisclosed settlement with a group of former students who sued the university in 2021 due to allegations of sexual misconduct and domestic violence by LSU football players.

The accusations that led to leadership shakeups at the school.

According to WWL Louisiana media partner Nola.com, court records show that the parties involved "settled all of their claims and have agreed to amicably resolve this dispute." The case was dismissed without costs and without prejudice, with court records noting it would be reopened if the settlement is not completed within a "reasonable time."

Plaintiff's attorneys declined to comment Monday on the settlement, while an LSU spokesperson declined to comment as well.

The plaintiffs in the case included Abby Owens, Samantha Brennan, Calise Richardson and Ashlyn Robertson, all of which alleged sexual misconduct by former LSU football star Derrius Guice.

Another plaintiff, LSU tennis star player Jade Lewis, claimed the university failed to properly respond to reports that she was being beaten by former Tigers football player and boyfriend Drake Davis.

Elisabeth Andries, Corinn Hovis, Sarah Beth Kitch and Kennan Johnson also said they experienced sexual misconduct or sex-based discrimination at LSU and that school officials failed to properly investigate their cases, despite federal Title IX laws requiring institutions to address sexual misconduct and domestic violence on campus.

Abby Owens and Samantha Brennam testifying against Derrius Guice in March 2021 at the Legislature's Senate Select Committee on Women & Children.

The plaintiffs named more than a dozen LSU officials in the suit, including former LSU President F. King Alexander and former LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva. Both have since been dismissed from the case.

Only the LSU Board of Supervisors remained a defendant at the time of the settlement.

Law firm Husch Blackwell also found that LSU's athletic department had routinely kept reports of sexual misconduct in-house, rather than sharing them with the Title IX office or police.
